I submitted all the details, they sent a letter stating they could not process because of missing COA/Order number. I sent them that and I am still waiting. They don't have a phone number to call. Sent couple of emails - still no response.

>After an impressively short time on hold, I was able >to speak with a woman without an Indian accent. But >still located in some other foreign country with >English as a second language

I wish they had hired a Indian BPO. I think they would have been more efficient and processed the rebate.

Was it the Vista upgrade rebate or just a regular rebate? I would recommend contacting HP (Compaq) and/or Microsoft to complain, as I might if they don't honor my rebate. Moduslink is paid by Microsoft to process the rebates (as far as I can tell), and they should know if they do a poor job.

I'm not in a hurry, since I'm not going to install Vista right away, but I don't want to pay to upgrade when the time comes, either!

I bought a Compaq Presario laptop in mid-December, 2006, with the promise of a rebate. So I filled out the required paperwork and sent it in. Nothing happened after 5 weeks, so I managed to finally find a phone number to call. They seemed very helpful and took the information down which of course required me turning my computer upside down to find all the appropriate numbers. They said to send in the receipt and rebate form again with the confirmation number on it, which I did. Four weeks later, I receive a letter from them saying they received all of it but could not process it because they needed all sorts of NEW information! Order No, missing customer details, Missing payment details, Missing Valid COA, order started, not complete, COA failed, Other. Now tell me, what the heck are they talking about? I'm convinced it is a hoax and there is no rebate forthcoming, and will be complaining to Best Buy and anyone else who will listen to me!
