In reply to <a href="/2009/04/01/veeam-backup-esxi-free-update-4/comment-page-1/#comment-14811">Backup Agent</a>.

That's complete nonsense. As you can see from my update this morning, upgrading to Veeam Backup 3.0.1 fixed the problem and was released (but not installed by me) before ESXi 3.5 Update 4 was out. I'm sure if Veeam Backup stopped working as advertised permanently that they would at least issue refunds to customers. For one, my purchase includes a one-year support contract. I've not seen anything about Veeam that makes me think they wouldn't stand behind their product 100%!

Frankly the comment from "Backup Agent" stinks of being from a competitor trying to spread FUD, but I don't have more info than so I'll let it stand on its own.

Veeam probably will not work with ESXi Update 4.

From what I understand, Veeam had made the product work by exploiting a few loopholes.

Needless to say, VMware has closed those loopholes with update 4.

David, from the errors you are getting it sounds like you are not running the latest version of Veeam Backup. We had an update release (3.0.1) released a few weeks ago. Please, upgrade your Veeam Backup installation to the latest version.
