Just wanted to let anyone know that didn’t already, Frontmotion provides MSI files of Firefox to download for free.

Sometimes, they don’t have the latest version available, but wait a few days and it will usually show up.

please, can i have a DVD copy of the windows7 AIK
kit?
my internet connection is a slow link and i will spend endless days downloading it.
I would be glad if i can have a complete copy of
the kit so pls let me know if you can burn your
ISO copy with any additional tools for me.

In reply to Luis Ferreira. Luis: I haven't actually tested silent install with Firefox 3.5.7, I believe it was 3.5.4 that was current when I did my testing. The -ms switch is depreciated but worked in 3.5.4; there was however no other option at the time as the preferred switch (/S) was broken. You can see the wiki knowledgebase article at Command Line Arguments to Firefox Installer. The link to the bug report about /S is there, along with some new information about using an INI file to configure the installation which was not there when I did my research (this may be the best way to do it now if -ms stopped working). There is some additional information on the Wiki Discussion Page for that entry as well. Thanks for pointing this out!

I try install Mozilla Firefox with Firefox Setup 3.5.7.exe -ms and at the end give a message that don´t install, because have error.

There used to be a free version that came on the Windows 2000 Server install CD but I don’t think it’s available any longer.

Thanks John! I think a couple of my commands may have come from AppDeploy via Google actually, they do have a lot of info. I haven’t looked at WinINSTALL…sounds nice, but at what cost? Gotta be pretty free/cheap for me to afford it right now :-)

Just added most of your apps as well as Java 1.6u17 to my Deployment share... Get the FULL OFFLINE installer from here and use this install command in MDT2010: jre-6u17-windows-i586-s.exe /s ADDLOCAL=ALL

Ever looked into WinINSTALL? You can backup a user’s data and profile, load the OS and apps and then blast their profile back on to the machine remotely using PXE. Also does hardware and software inventory as well as manages software updates plus a whole lot more! We use it here to manage 800+ machines. Info about this product at http://scalable.com/wininstall
